The City appreciates our volunteer heroes Jamie and Kendra who represent a vital part of what makes our community a vibrant and active place to live.

Meet our Honorees!

Volunteer Honoree Jamie Lease1. Jamie Lease – For the past six years, Jamie Lease has taken the lead as the Volunteer Garden Coordinator in our beautiful Bayfront Community Garden.  Our team greatly appreciates Jamie’s unwavering commitment to maintaining a welcoming and collaborative garden space where he leads garden gatherings, volunteer days, answers questions, supports his fellow gardeners, and handles the concerns and needs of over forty gardeners. In Jamie’s own words, “it’s been a true labor of love”. The City of Mill Valley and Arts & Recreation Department are so grateful to Jamie for his years of outstanding service!

Volunteer Honoree Kendra Pollack

2. Kendra Pollack – Kendra Pollack has been a Mill Valley resident for twenty years, where she raised two young men in the public schools. For the past fourteen years she has dedicated her time to volunteering for the City of Mill Valley in support of a wide range of efforts. From her work with the Arts & Recreation Department and SOMA aquatics in getting a Southern Marin swim lesson program off the ground to being a founding member of Heart of the Village which engages teens and adults in our town in tough but critical conversations; Kendra is a vital member of this community.  Other organizations in which she has volunteered include Old Mill School PTA, Southern Marin Aquatics, Mill Valley Middle School and the Tam High School PTSA Executive Board. She is currently the NRG Captain for Cascade Canyon, participates in the City Manager Working Group and is a fundraiser for Growth Circles, a Marin City Youth travel experience. Kendra is always there showing a compassionate and caring hand of support. The City deeply appreciates not only her unwavering commitment over the years but her kindhearted and welcoming approach with all that she takes on.
